Kate Middleton's recent video sharing her cancer diagnosis has stirred up controversy. In the video, the Princess of Wales disclosed that she was undergoing chemotherapy for early-stage cancer treatment. The photo agency Getty Images has now included a disclaimer on the video on their site, noting that it was provided by Kensington Palace.

The caption accompanying the video reads, "EDITOR'S NOTE: This Handout clip was provided by a third-party organization and may not adhere to Getty Images' editorial policy." Getty Images explained that this disclaimer is standard practice for content received from third-party sources. A spokesperson for Getty mentioned to Fox News Digital that, "Getty Images includes a standard editors note to handout content provided by third-party organizations.

" The scrutiny surrounding Middleton's videos and images, supplied by Kensington Palace, intensified after she posted a manipulated photo of herself and her children for Mother's Day. This image caused global speculation due to concerns about Kate's health and whereabouts. Following backlash and questions about the altered photo, Middleton issued an apology, expressing her experimentation with editing photos.

Getty Images and other agencies, such as Reuters and The Associated Press, removed the photo from their platforms. Instagram also labeled the post as an "altered photo." In light of these incidents, Phil Chetwynd, global news director of photo and news agency AFP, remarked that Kensington Palace was no longer a trusted source.

Conspiracy theories about Middleton became rampant, particularly as she had been out of the public eye since Christmas and underwent abdominal surgery in January. The edited photo exacerbated these speculations. However, Middleton finally addressed the rumors in a video message on March 22, where she revealed her ongoing preventative chemotherapy treatment post-surgery.

While she did not disclose the type or extent of the cancer, Middleton expressed gratitude for the support during her recovery. As Middleton and Prince William, along with their children, were absent from Easter services attended by other members of the royal family, King Charles III made his first significant public appearance since his cancer diagnosis in February. This announcement further shed light on the challenges faced by the royal family during this time.
