Google has showcased Project Astra, revealing a prototype of glasses equipped with a camera, microphone, and speaker. Leveraging generative AI technology, these glasses can engage in conversations and provide information about the surrounding environment.

The specifics of the glasses developed for Project Astra by Google's DeepMind division have not been divulged. The objective is to build an 'agent', an AI system capable of processing diverse inputs and seamlessly integrating with multiple systems.

In a demonstration video, the glasses were seen responding to questions through a camera image displayed on a telephone. The questions pertained to objects and even visible code within the image. Google confirmed that the demonstration was live and unedited.

These projects may eventually be integrated into Google's services. The release date for the glasses remains uncertain. They bear a resemblance to other smart glasses in the market that also feature a camera and image recognition capabilities.
