Munawar Faruqui: Stand-up comedian and winner of the reality TV show Bigg Boss 17, Munawar Faruqui, was involved in an incident last night (March 26). Along with 13 others, he was detained by Mumbai police after a raid at a hookah bar located in the Fort area of south Mumbai.
According to reports by ANI, Mumbai Police registered a case against Munawar Faruqi and the other 13 individuals.
Faruqui was later released after the case was filed.
Incident at Sabalan hookah bar
The Mumbai Police's Social Service Branch conducted a raid at the Sabalan hookah bar in Bora Bazaar following a tip-off. An official stated, "Our team raided the hookah bar based on information regarding the use of tobacco disguised as herbal.
After examining the evidence, a case was filed and 14 individuals, including Faruqui, were detained."
Although the offence was bailable, Faruqui was given a notice and allowed to leave. The police are currently investigating the situation.
"If it is determined that the accused were using tobacco in the hookahs, they will be charged under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act," added the officer.

Munawar gained widespread recognition after his victory in the popular reality TV show Bigg Boss season 17. He emerged as one of the most beloved contestants of the season.
