NCSoft, the parent company of developer ArenaNet, has given the green light for the development of Guild Wars 3. The timeline for the development of the MMORPG has not been disclosed yet. Despite the approval, Guild Wars 3 has not been officially announced.
During a meeting with investors, chairman Park Byeong-moo revealed that ArenaNet is currently focused on working on Guild Wars 3, as reported by the South Korean game news site Inven and MassivelyOP. However, the extent of development progress remains unclear, suggesting that the game may still be a few years away from being launched.
The most recent installment in the Guild Wars series, Guild Wars 2, was released in 2012. The game has continued to be supported and received its fourth expansion last year, titled Secrets of the Obscure. Furthermore, two more expansions are set to be released in 2024 and 2025. Since 2022, Guild Wars 2 has also been made available on Steam.
