Proximus revealed that they have connected 44000 new fiber optic connections in the latest quarter, bringing the total number of households connected to a fiber optic line to 441000. In addition to this milestone, the company saw a significant growth in both mobile and fixed home subscriptions.
According to the latest report on quarterly figures released by the Belgian provider, there was a 36 percent increase in 'fiber in the street' connections constructed in the first quarter of the year, totaling 44000 new connections, leading to a total of 441000 activated fiber optic lines by the end of March.
Furthermore, Proximus observed a rise in the number of subscribers, with a 21000 increase in mobile subscriptions and a 12000 increase in fixed internet subscriptions for home use. The number of customers with a 'convergent subscription', which combines fixed internet and television, also grew by 17000 compared to the same period last year.
As a result of these new subscribers, Proximus experienced a 4.5 percent increase in turnover, with a 6.5 percent increase in turnover for home connections and a 2.7 percent increase for business connections. The company's quarterly revenue reached 1.2 billion euros, contributing to the overall success of the Proximus Group, which includes Flitsmeister and Telesign, with a total turnover exceeding 1.5 billion euros.
