After analyzing data collected nearly three decades ago on Venus, scientists have come to the conclusion that the planet's volcanoes are likely still active to this day.

A team of researchers, led by David Sulcanese from the Universita d'Annunzio in Pescara, Italy, utilized data from radar mapping of Venus's surface in the 1990s to detect volcanic lava flows in two specific regions. This new finding indicates that current volcanic activity on Venus may be more widespread than previously believed.

The study detailing this discovery has been published in the journal Nature Astronomy.Venus, often referred to as "Earth's twin sister", continues to reveal signs of ongoing volcanic activity.
