Renowned Indian theatre director Feroz Abbas Khan is set to make a comeback with his latest theatrical production titled 'Letters of Suresh'. This play explores themes of love, loss, death, and the pursuit of peace and solace amidst existential loneliness in contemporary relationships. Starring Vir Hirani, the play will debut at the NMACC in Mumbai from May 9 to 12, marking its premiere in India.

Feroz Abbas Khan's previous work includes the highly successful 'Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical', which captivated global audiences with its grand sets, talented actors, extravagant choreography, and timeless love story. In an interview, Khan shared insights into his latest production following the success of 'Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical'. When asked about audience expectations for 'Letters of Suresh', Khan expressed that the play offers a unique emotional experience that transcends words.

Unlike the visual spectacle of 'Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical', 'Letters of Suresh' focuses on a series of monologues involving four individuals seeking connection through letters, delving into the depths of yearning and interconnected lives. Vir Hirani plays a significant role in the play, chosen for his sensitivity, depth, and training at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Khan emphasized that live performances, like theatrical plays, offer a tangible connection between the audience and the performers, especially in a post-pandemic era where people seek meaningful experiences.

Reflecting on his journey as a director, Khan highlighted the challenges of production, logistics, and funding, noting that each project takes on a unique life of its own. He expressed his love for theatre's power of imagination, quality writing, and engagement with actors, which continues to surprise creators, actors, and audiences with its dynamic energy. Regarding the exploration of emotions in theatre, Khan emphasized the importance of actors understanding and embodying the depth and nuances of the playwright's writing to connect with the audience effectively.

He stressed the director's role in guiding actors to interpret and perform the text authentically, creating a compelling and emotive experience onstage. As 'Letters of Suresh' premieres in India with an Indian cast including Palomi Ghosh, Vir Hirani, Radhika Sawhney, and Harssh Singh, Khan remains optimistic about the show's reception in the country, highlighting the talent and dedication of the ensemble.
