During the inaugural Flemish central tests, technical difficulties caused disruptions in the testing process. The digital system used for administering the tests was overloaded, leading to slow performance. Consequently, some students were unable to complete their tests.
VRT reports that the issues have mostly been resolved. Flemish Minister of Education Ben Weyts has assured that schools facing disruptions will be offered a catch-up session, although the exact timing is yet to be determined. The minister's office informed De Morgen that approximately two percent of students were unable to finish their tests.
The Flemish central tests cover subjects like Dutch and mathematics and were introduced to address educational quality challenges in Flanders. The first tests took place on April 24 for fourth-grade primary students and second-grade secondary students.
