Telenet has made an exciting announcement regarding the launch of Blossom, a subsidiary dedicated to the installation and activation of home charging stations for company employees starting from April 1. The Belgian telecom provider has also hinted that self-employed individuals and private users will have access to this service in the near future.
Blossom has partnered with Scoptvision, Optimile, and Unit-T, among others, to kickstart the installation of home charging stations for Telenet's electric vehicles. In addition, a collaboration has been established with BNP Paribas Fortis, the main shareholder, to extend this service to their electric cars as well. Telenet's press release highlights that Blossom aims to provide a comprehensive solution, including customized charging solutions aligned with solar power and varying energy tariffs through its partners.
Initially targeting corporate fleets, Blossom plans to streamline the employee onboarding process digitally, enabling seamless integration with the charging network. The company also mentions the development of a shared portal and a dedicated app for fleet managers, although the extent of access to individual employees' charging and driving patterns remains unclear. The timeline for when private users can avail of Blossom's products has not been disclosed.
